Optional entry of an Observed CDC (Collision Damage Coefficient), an investigator's alphanumeric description of the damage following SAE J-224, will immediately produce a complete set of damage properties and contour dimensions scaled to the vehicle.
More typically, the Damage Inputs consist of the body-axis X (forward) and Y (rightward) positions of the Damage Midpoint (the point midway between the extremes of the end or side damage), the Apparent Force Direction (optional), the Damping Energy (G), Threshold Force (A), and Stiffness (B) per Width, the Shear Plane Inclination (optional but helpful), and the Scrape Length (neglected in CRASH). Of the three per-width properties, if any two are entered the third appears; and, two alternate formats are available through the Options Menu.

For the Contour Data, for each vehicle up to 9 Contour Depths, and intervening (not cumulative) Widths, not necessarily equal, marching forward (for side damage) or rightward (for end damage) may be entered. If the CRASH protocol is used, all the widths will be equal. Corner damage is entered in terms of deep initial or final damage to the more-broadly-damaged face. The contours may be checked when drawn and corrected as necessary.
